This magnificent home bred stallion has started his competitive career under the masterful hands of Wium van Huyssteen.
Our young boy has entered his first ever dressage show competing at Young Horse Performance Series, leg 1, at Kyalami Park Club, in Novice 3 and 4.
This 4yr old stallion has shown himself to be such a gentle and calm soul and has done fantastically well, taking all the new things in his stride.
He earned a very respectable 2nd place in both his tests with scores of 64.7% and 68.1%
Next up was the DSA Challenge, held over a three-day period.
Here Kayleb was entered into Novice 6, and competed against a total of 72 horses.
Truly a huge class. These horses were divided into different pools, with bests scoring horses going through to day 3.
Kayleb scored a very impressive 69.135% on day two and went on to score 72,13% on day 3, placing him at nr1 for his pool.
Unfortunately, the rules of this competition, state that a rider can only take 1 horse through to the finals, per class, and as Wium had 3 horses entered into the same class here, his best scoring mount went through and the other two went on to the consolation class, which Kayleb then won.
Our third Show was Gauteng champs held at Kyalami Park Club.
A very big show with loads of horses entered.
There was once again 2 pools to accommodate all the horses.
Kayleb scored a 65.613% on day one in the Freestyle event.
His score of 65.76% on day two placed him 4th in the warmup round and 3rd in the qualifier.
What a proud moment to have a podium finish at our third ever show!
Kayleb finished day three with a score of 67.597% placing him 8th overall out of the final 20 horses making it through to the final round of the competition.
I am super excited to see what the future hold for this beautiful bright young stallion.
